Margot Robbie Attends New York Rangers Game; Is "Wolf Of Wall Street" Star A Hockey WAG Or Die-Hard Fan?

Margot Robbie is predicted to be the breakout  star for this year. Her very noticeable role in "The Wolf Of Wall Street" ensures bigger projects in the future. She was recently seen attending a New York Rangers game.

One of the unofficial perks of being a star athlete is dating popular actresses and models. It has become fodder for the rumor mill as the biggest segments of the entertainment world collide. From a Bleacher Report list of top athlete/celebrity marriages, the best couple is David and Victoria Beckham. West of the Atlantic, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are at number two. Nope, it's not Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian.

Getting way ahead of the story, Margot Robbie is actually a big hockey fan-specifically of the New York Rangers. She will not be in any Top NHL WAGs (wives and girlfriends) list anytime soon, but she is more than just a fan of the game.

In an interview with Film.com:

"Well I always wanted to play ice hockey back in Australia, I'm not sure why, but we didn't have any ice where I lived. It was very hot, a coastal town. So I played field hockey, but then when I moved to America I was finally able to join a team once I wasn't contracted to a show, but when I was contracted to a show I wasn't able to play. But I was living in New York, so I was able to watch, and the Rangers were my default team.

And not just by default, but also because they're the best team ever."

She attended the game in a Henrik Lundqvist jersey which prompted a question if they have a connection: She says: "I love him (Lundqvist) so much. He's so brilliant. And I really love Ryan Callahan, and I really love Brian Boyle, they're two of my favorites as well." Nice try, but still just a fan.

In "The Wolf of Wall Street" there was a scene where Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio's character) had  a jersey of the NY Islanders, the Rangers' crosstown rivals in the NHL. Robbie failed to notice it, but she reacts like a fan:

"I had no idea that he was an Islanders fan. This is news to me. Oh my gosh. Are you serious?...Had I known this, our fight scenes would have been exponentially more violent than they were! This is huge. I can't believe that no one mentioned this to me...Yeah, maybe it's a good thing I didn't know that, maybe we would have taken things too far. [Pause] Wow."

Maybe not in the Oscars, but Leonardo diCaprio is one lucky guy.
