Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Blu Unveils 4.8" Midranger Packed With Super AMOLED Display, Quad-Core CPU, Priced At Just $249

There are a number of exciting upcoming Android phones for 2014 that have been announced over the past couple of weeks. Asus's ZenFone lineup probably offers the best variety in terms of specs and pricing.

But if you want more options for an affordable midranger, then Blu's newly-announced handset may get your attention.

Dubbed as the Vivo 4.8 HD, this Android-powered device boasts decent specs and an attractive price tag. Priced at only $250, you would expect inferior specs for this device.

Unsurprisingly, Blu was able to pull off a device that runs like a 2012 flagship but costs just right. The Vivo 4.8 HD packs a 4.8-inch screen with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a MediaTek MT6589T quad-core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

Obviously, one of the handset's selling points is the impressive-looking Super AMOLED display which you would not expect from a handset at this price range.

Other notable specifications include an 8-megapixel camera, a pretty sleek 5MP front cam, a 2,000mAh battery, and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

In spite the Blu Vivo 4.8 HD's aggressive pricing, Motorola's Moto G could pose a real threat due to its cheaper price ($199), and the latest version of Android Kitkat right off the bat.
