Dean McDermott has voluntarily entered an outpatient rehab to address his "personal and health issues;" a decision that came after he has been on the headlines lately for allegedly cheating of his wife Tori Spelling.

In a statement sent to media outlets, the actor said: "I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and for the pain I've caused my family. I take full responsibility for my actions and have voluntarily checked myself into a treatment center to address some health and personal issues. I am grateful to be getting the help I need so I can become the husband and father my family deserves."

According to E! News, the actor was already spotted coming out of a rehab facility in L.A. before rushing into his car and speeding off.

The news about Dean McDermott going into rehab came on the heels about the couple having a huge fight allegedly when Tori Spelling demanded to know his whereabouts at all times. The actor also crashed in the house of one of his friends.

The couple has four children together, Liam, 6, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2 and Finn, 16 months. Tori Spelling has been putting up a brave front over the past few weeks, even to the point of staging photographs between the "90210" star and her husband for the benefit of the paparazzi, just to prove that they are not headed for divorce.

Meanwhile, Mary Jo Eustace, the ex-wife of Dean McDermott, told People, that she only wish the best for the actor "in his struggle to overcome the demons he has been wrestling with for many years, so he can become the father and the man I know he wants to be."

She added that her main concern now is the health and well-being of their son. Dean McDermott and her ex-wife has a son, Jack, 15.

"I am also hopeful that from this point on there will be a dedicated effort to deal with this matter privately and respectfully, for the sake of all the children involved," Eustace added.
