Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: 3 Highly Anticipated Handsets Running On 3 Different Platforms From The Korean Giant

Samsung is known for releasing a flurry of devices and variations of its previous handsets throughout the year. However, there are particularly three upcoming Samsung phones in 2014 that consumers and experts should watch out for.

1. Samsung Galaxy S5 - Android

The upcoming flagship of Samsung's priced Galaxy S lineup is coming soon, but when. A report several days ago claimed that the Galaxy S5 would be announced on February 23, and then be officially released by late March or Apri. However, a new rumor suggests that the Korean tech giant would focus on its Tizen-powered devices this MWC, which would push the Galaxy S5 release date a few weeks late.

2. Samsung Tizen Smartphone - Tizen OS

While we have not yet officially seen a Tizen-powered device in the market, the mobile platform has been under development for more than two years already. This week, Samsung sent invites for a Tizen event in February, so we expect the company to finally unveil its homemade OS running on a Samsung handset. This could be a crucial step for the company to finally take on Google's Android, which ironically provides Samsunga huge percentage of its annual revenue.

3. Samsung Windows Phone  - Windows Phone

When the first Windows Phone-powered Samsung handset was released a couple of years ago, the platform was still young and trying to find its ground in the lucrative mobile industry. Now that Microsoft has finally made some achievements in terms of market share and availability of apps from the Windows Store, a new WP-powered device developed by rival companies would be a fresh take on the mobile platform.
