Jenni Rivera Manager Suing Family; Dead Star’s Family Published a Biography the Manager Wrote And Didn’t Pay Off; Wants $10 Million

Jennii Rivera's manager is suing the family. According to published reports Jenni Rivera's manager is suing because the family published Rivera's biography and didn't pay off, saying something along the lines of "How dare you publish her bio without paying me?" Jennifer Rivera, along with six others, died in a plane crash near Iturbide, Nuevo León, Mexico, on December 9, 2012. Jenni Rivera's manager is suing for at least $10,000,000. A spokesman for the Rivera family says they will fight the lawsuit

The media says Jenni Rivera's ex-manager is suing because she is on a rampage that the late singer's biography was published. Jenni Rivera's managers says she wrote the book and is entitled to at least $10 million. 

Jenni Rivera's former manager, Laura Lucio, sued Jenni's estate and family. Lucio says she managed Jenni since 2004 and co-wrote the biographay "Mi Vida Loca" ("My Crazy Life") with Rivera.

Laura says the publishing dates for Jennie Rivera's bio were pushed back for varioust reasons and  was finally shelved after Jenni's sudden death in a freak plane crash in 2012.

Lucio claims that in July 2013 Jenni's family found the book on Rivera's computer. Jenni Rivera's managers says the family published "Mi Vida Loca" under the title "Unbreakable" Rivera's managers says she was not consulted and not recompensed.

Laura claims she wrote 95% of Jenni Rivera's book. She says she negotiated a deal where she would get owed 40% of the profits from the biography. She says she hasn't been paid at all.

Jenni Rivera was an American Latin singer-songwriter, actress, television producer, and entrepreneur. She was nominated for Grammy awards. Jenni Rivera started recording music in 1998. Rivera's songs often took on social issues, infidelity, and relationships. Jenni Rivera got her first Number 1 record in the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart in the United States with her tenth studio album, "Jenni" which came out in 2008. She moved into reality TV in 2010 with the show "Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiquis & Raq-C." She also produced and played in "I Love Jenni" from 2011 to 2013 and Chiquis 'n Control in 2012. Jenni Rivera made her acting debut in the film Filly Brown, which came out after her death. The film was released in 2013.
