Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumors: New Phablet Will Come In Two Models With Different Specs, Both Have Plastic Cover And Fingerprint Scanner

In case you have been reading a lot of tech news lately, you would surely be accustomed to the usual Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors every few days. Now, a new report allegedly claims that the upcoming phone will have two versions.

According to a report by Android Authority, KGI Reserch analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a note to investors that the Galaxy S5 will come in a Standard and Prime model.

So what are the differences between the two? The analyst says it is mainly the processors and the RAM. In the note, the Standard version could have the quad-core Snapdragon 800 or octa-core Exynos 5422 paired with 2GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Prime edition may pack the Korean manufacturer's upgraded octa-core Exynos 5430 processor together with 3GB RAM.

A few weeks back, rumors pointed out that Samsung may be working on the Galaxy S flagship, and a premium lineup of smartphones with metal casing. While there is still no way to confirm it, the alleged Prime version of the Galaxy S5 could be the first step in attaining such goal.

In Ming-Chi Kuo's note, both versions of the Galaxy S5 will have fingerprint support, a plastic casing, a 16-megapixel camera, and 2,850mAh of battery, which is kinda small for a phone that is rumored to be a phablet.

Still, we should take all of these speculations with a grain of salt until the confirmation comes from Samsung itself.
