Geeksphone Revolution Is A 4.7" Handset That Can Boot With Android, Firefox And "Any Other Supported Community OS", Packs Dual-Core CPU, 1GB Of RAM

Geeksphone may not be a household name in the mobile world, but we're sure it would be if it manages to successfully pull off the world's first dual-booting smartphone - the Geeksphone Revolution.

However, dual-boot is merely an understatement as the Geeksphone handset has more than one 'alternative OS' aside from the base platform which is Android. While we don't know yet which Android version it will have, one of the more interesting options is Firefox OS which also comes pre-loaded in the device.

And just like other operating systems, all of the platforms inside the Revolution can be updated via over-the-air updates.

There's not so much information about the other platforms, though GSM Arena reported that it would have 'any other supported community OS'.

Aside from the cool multi-booting capabilities, the Revolution's specs are midrange worthy. The handset boasts a 4.7-inch display with 960 x 540 resolution, a dual-core Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera.

We don't know yet when the Geeksphone Revolution would launch, where and how much it would cost. We hope it may be available for consumers who are planning to try the cool concept of booting on several mobile platforms.
