In spite conflicting rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date, we are still pretty confident it would be announced within Q1 of 2014. Now a new report allegedly confirms the camera sensor resolution of the upcoming device. 

In reports by several tech websites, a leaked EXIF data from a Flipboard test acccount might have confirmed that the Galaxy S5 will have a 16MP camera. The model number of the device which took the shot is SM-G900V. 

Another info from the EXIF file revealed that the aperture used by the camera sensor for the imageis 1/2.5", a size similar to that of the 20MP camera of the Lumia 1020. 

With these additional info, we can safely assume that the Galaxy S5 will come with either a 16-megapixel or a 20-megapixel camera. 

A member of the AnTuTu benchmark app team has dug into some details regarding the G900, and allegedly confirmed that it is the Samsung Galaxy S5. 

Trusted leaker of everything Samsung, Sam Mobile also posted a list of model numbers which bear the G900 branding. While this is certainly not a confirmed list, it allegedly lists the carriers where the upcoming phablet would be available.

Of course these details are just plain rumors so you may want to receive them with more than a pinch of salt. February is almost here and we expect Samsung to at least shed more light to its new flagship device.
