Upcoming Sony Phones 2014: Xperia Z1 Compact Officially Arrives In UK And Germany, Costs £449 Directly From Sony
There are a number of highly anticipated upcoming Sony phones in 2014, and the Japanese manufacturer made waves when it announced the Xperia Z1 Compact a few weeks ago at the CES event in Las Vegas.
Today, the Android-powered handset has officially arrived to the UK as well as Germany through Amazon and other retailers. According to the report by GSM Arena, Amazon Germany offers the device at €499 for all the color variations of the Z1 Compact, while other retailers sell it a little cheaper at €489.
Meanwhile in the UK, the Sony-made device is available directly from Sony's online store at £449 for the unlocked version. O2 carrier on the other hand, offers the device either on £479.99 off-contract or get it for free with a 2-year contract at £37 per month.
The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is the international version of the Xperia Z1f which was released in Japan, and the Xperia Z1s which will arrive to T-Mobile in the US. The phone boasts a 4.3-inch screen with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Adreno 330 for superior graphics performance, and 2GB of RAM.
The phone also has 16GB of internal memory with an option for microSD card storage expansion, a 20.7MP primary camera and 2MP front cam, a non-removable 2,300mAh battery, and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box with an incoming upgrade to 4.4.2 Kitkat soon.
