HTC Desire 310 release date, price: Specs of the entry-level smartphone is quite impressive. But what’s more important is that the unit arrived as a surprise. According to Digital Versus, the Taiwanese tech giant has surprised many by announcing the new device recently.

The tech-focused site noted that the HTC Desire 301 has a pretty interesting set of specs. It has a 4.5-inch display bearing 480 x 854 pixels, a 1.35GHz quad-core processor, 512MB RAM and a 5-megapixel camera. The new device runs on Android 4.2.2 and has a 2000 mAh battery. What is particularly interesting with the unit though is that it uses the MT6582M SoC made by MediaTek, which is a first for HTC.

The exact time of its release date and specific price is still unknown. It’s expected though that the HTC Desire 310 will be a budget-friendly handset and will likely have an affordable price tag. Digital Trend said that HTC is too aware of the low-cost Chinese manufacturers who are making serious headway in the mid-range and entry-level markets. Based on the RAM and other specs in the device, there’s a huge probability that this could come at a pretty competitive price.

The arrival of the HTC Desire 301 has only further fueled rumors that the HTC One 2 is on its way. Reports have indicated that it’s without a doubt that HTC has one or two high-end products in the pipeline, which it’ll potentially showcase at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in February.

The HTC One 2 will be the follow-up to its critically acclaimed flagship which has impressed numerous tech enthusiasts for its design and under the hood features.
