HTC One 2 M8 Release Date Almost Confirmed As French Government Website Lists Upcoming Flagship, Includes A Dual-SIM Version As Well

For the past couple of months, we have been hearing lots about the branding as well as potential HTC One 2 M8 release date announcements all over the Web. One rumor was claiming it would be announced during the CES, but the event has come and gone but no sign of the new flagship device from HTC.

It is already February and we could just be weeks away from a potential release date at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. However, we still don't know exactly what to call the upcoming Android phone.

There have been potential names which are being used nowadays by bloggers some of which include the One M8, One+, and even One 2 M8. However, in a recent report, it appears that it would be an uninspiring HTC One 2, and it will have a dual-SIM version as well.

According to sources cited by GSM Arena, the unannounced droid has appeared in a list of HTC phones on a French government website, the New Caledonia's Office of Posts and Telecommunications. We hate to say this, but this may be one solid proof to believe this branding of the new high-end device from the Taiwanese manufacturer.

Interestingly, the phone will also arrive with a dual-SIM version, which is kinda odd considering this feature has only been included in midrange phones in the past. Obviously with this feature, the HTC One 2 dual-sim will aim to target the already competitive Asian market, which has a thing or two when it comes to dual-SIM droids.

While the listed name came from a relatively trusted source, we can't believe anything until it has been made official.
