Lebron Leaving Miami? NBA 2014 Free Agent Sent Farewell Message On Dwyane Wade’s Birthday? Describes Partner As Being ‘Old As Dirt!’

Lebron James leaving the Miami Heat is seen as a far-fetched notion. However, he is free agent when he takes the player option. Has he given clues about his future plans?

Last January 17, his running mate and close friend Dwyane Wade turned 32. The King sent him a heartfelt message (not a common occurrence for an image-conscious Lebron) that brought more than a people reading a lot between the lines. The message he sent on Instagram:

"Happy Bday to my running mate, homie, brother, and most of all straight up friend! The friendship we've created our rookie year at pre draft camp was pure and that's why we stuck together from that point on! Obviously didn't know we would eventually become teammates and do the things we've done so far. I came to Miami for 2 reasons. To play with U and to win championships and I can't thank u enough for the sacrifice you've made since I arrived homie! No matter what happens in the future we stuck together like brothers for life. And no matter what they say, u still a BAD Mutha-Shut-Yo-Mouth out there on that court! @dwyanewade. Oh almost forgot u old as dirt! Boy you look 40. Hahaha! #TreyBallBDay #YouASuckaOnYoBDay"

For some, it is already a farewell message. Despite being a starter in the All-Star game, this is Wade at his weakest, and we have probably seen the best of his basketball days.

Dwyane Wade spoke to the Miami Herald about his birthday thoughts: "To be in this position in the NBA still, to be on great teams that have won championships and to accomplish the things that I've accomplished and to have the things that I have, and to have the family that I have, I am truly blessed. It has been a journey, a ride of ups and downs in my 32 years, but I wouldn't have it any other way."

Both statements have the tone of being 'accomplished' and thankful. It's as if the two players lost their hunger, or their swag. There is a hint of resignation, that they are no longer the masters of their own fate. Or this could all just be a case of 'the feels.'

CBS Sports considers that possibility. We might be reading too much into this. However, they cannot deny that it is very unusual: "This is probably nothing, but it seemed kind of weird. Also, the jokes about Dwyane Wade looking old on a team that has Greg Oden is weird."

Kidding aside, James and Wade are no longer the same people in that presumptuous 'victory' party after Lebron James' decision in 2010. Did their dreams of winning "not one, not two" championships change with them?
