"Under the Dome" season 2's cast just got bigger: according to new spoilers, Eddie Cahill from "CSI: NY" will be cast as Big Jim's brother-in-law in "Under the Dome" season 2, and two other new actresses will join him.

Eddie Cahill, who was a series regular for all 197 episodes of "CSI: NY," has been cast as Sam, Big Jim's brother-in-law in "Under the Dome" season 2, according to spoilers from The Hollywood Reporter. The character is described as "a handsome recluse and former EMT who can hold his own against Big Jim and forms a deep connection with Julia (Rachelle Lefevre)," the website notes.

TVLine reports that Sam is known as "a rugged gent better known to the locals as 'the crazy drunk who lives alone in the woods.'"

Who else will be added to the cast in "Under the Dome" season 2?

"Misfits" grad Karla Crome will also join the series when it airs this summer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The British actress will make her U.S. TV debut as Rebecca, "a beautiful teacher who is athletic, smart, tough and sexy. She grew up as an Army brat and lived with her family in many locations around the world."

TVLine spoilers also describe Rebecca as "a teacher in her 30s whom Big Jim beseeches to start back up the school, though not with the noblest of agendas."

The website also teases the addition of another actress to the cast of "Under the Dome" season 2: a "new girl" who "takes an avid interest in both Joe and Norrie."

Vaughan told THR last year that the series will continue to focus on the human drama rather than the otherworldly beings introduced at season's end.

"Even though we've introduced these people behind the dome, we don't want it to become a show about us versus aliens. The dome is only there to pit us against each other and challenge our characters," he said. "We hope that will keep it a grounded human drama. We've always described the dome as a baby from another world and it's still learning to talk with us."

"Under the Dome" season 2 returns to CBS on Monday, June 30 at 10pm ET/PT.
