Sega revealed that the recent information that emerged about "Sonic the Hedgehog" PS4, Xbox One release date is 'incorrect.'

SpinDash, a German website posted photos of a promotional standee displayed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. It listed the next-generation Sonic title for 2015. As cited on Latin Post, the display reads, "New 2015 title TBA" and below were logos of Wii U, as well as the recently-released game consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One.

Because of this, rumors about "Sonic The Hedgehog" PS4, Xbox One release date spread in the gaming industry, speculating that the new title might arrive in 2015. However, Sega announced that the supposed leak for "Sonic The Hedgehog" PS4, Xbox One release date is "incorrect," as posted on Digital Spy.

A senior community manager from the game company posted on the official Sega forums in a thread with a title "Sonic game announced for 2015." The post says, "The recent information coming out of Nuremburg Toy Fair was incorrect."

The manager further said that SEGA has yet to reveal information about the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog title.

SEGA has yet to announce details of upcoming console video games for Sonic the Hedgehog, or further details regarding the new Sonic CG TV series.

It is also reported that Sega is about to launch a new Sonic show on Cartoon Network. And according to the posted displayed on the toy fair, the show will be entitled "Sonic Boom" and it will start to air on Cartoon Network at some point this fall 2014.

Lastly, the forum post reads, "For official and up-to-date information on Sonic, be sure to look at our website, Facebook, and Twitter."

"Sonic: Lost World" was the latest game release from Sega for the series and it was made available last year for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
