Samsung Galaxy S3 receives a new stock firmware based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

With the new firmware available, Samsung Galaxy S3 users can now install official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on their smartphone. According to a post on International Business Times, the new stock firmware update, I9300XXUGNA5 is based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and it is available exclusively for Samsung Galaxy S3, particularly for users in Switzerland.

According to Phone Arena, Samsung Galaxy S3 was first announced on May 3, 2012. Weeks later or more specifically, on May 22, the then flagship device from the South Korean manufacturer became available in the market. 

Samsung Galaxy S3 users in Switzerland who wish to install official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update can access the firmware via the Over-The-Air notification or through the KIES server.

Meanwhile, users outside Switzerland can also install the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, however, by using only the manual installation process. Since the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean stock firmware, XXUGNA5 is an unbranded version, it can be installed to any GT-I9300 units, regardless of the location.

For those who will install official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on Samsung Galaxy S3, there are some pre-requisites to follow:

First, verify that the model number of the smartphone is GT-I9300 as the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware, XXUGNA5 is only compatible with this variant of the device. Go to Settings>About Phone > Model Number.

Second, make sure that the correct USB drivers for the Samsung Galaxy S3 are installed on the computer so the Android device will easily connect with the PC during the installation process.

Third, create a backup to save all the relevant data and settings stored on the Samsung Galaxy S3. Custom recovery tools such as CLockWorkMod and TWRP can be used to make a backup of the smartphone.

Fourth, enable USB debugging mode on the device.
