Following Robert Redford's claims that he'll be playing a villain on the second installment of Captain America franchise, a new speculation has emerged stating that SHIELD's top ranking official Alexander Pierce might have been working with Hydra.

As reported by Uleashthefanboy.com, "we know that Hydra will definitely return, and that Robert Redford's "head of SHIELD" character could be an undercover Hydra agent. As well, Agent Sitwell (the guy meant to replace Agent Coulson after The Avengers) may also be a Hydra agent in disguise."

On his interview with The Strait Times, Redford spilled the beans saying that, "I like the idea of playing a villain...I did that just because it's a different thing for me to do."

The 77-year old actor is accustomed to playing leading roles and him saying that he likes "the idea of playing a villain" is a clear statement that Bucky Barnes will not be the only villain in the movie.

Redford revealed: "I like the idea of playing a villain...I did that just because it's a different thing for me to do."

But, wait isn't Redford going to play Alexander Pierce in the movie, and isn't he an important member of S.H.I.E.L.D? - Alexander Pierce is Col. Nick Fury's superior for those non-comic geeks out there.

Well, as per Kevin Feige's ( Producer and President of Marvel Studios) description of the movie according to Screenrant.com

"If it is a fad, it's one that lasts 30 to 40 years, as the Western did, because each one is so different...There's an opportunity to graft almost sub-genres onto them. Our first Captain America film was a World War II picture, and the next is a political thriller. They all have their own textures and patinas, and that's what is exciting about it."

Take note of the "political thriller" there. As shown on the leaked extended Captain America 2 trailer, it looks like the secret organization S.H.I.E.L.D is having some "conspiracy" issues and Steve Rogers is having problems on who to trust inside the organization.

Meanwhile, Captain America did some reshoots for the sequel on December 16 and 17 details about the reshoots were not revealed as of press time.

After the reshoots Marvel will "allow their cast and crew to enjoy the festive season before they reconvene for two more weeks of shooting in January 2014," as reported by Yahoo.
