‘Divergent’ Movie Sequel Will Have More Thrilling Scenes? ‘Da Vinci Code’ Writer Akiva Goldsman To Rewrite Script Of ‘Insurgent’

Although the first 'Divergent' movie is not yet released, fans cannot help but be excited for the 'Divergent' movie sequel - 'Insurgent'. To make the 'Divergent' movie sequel more exhilarating, Akiva Goldsman has been officially enlisted by Lionsgate to rewrite the second film's script which was originally penned by Brian Duffield.

While the reception of viewers to 'Divergent' is yet to be seen, producers have already confirmed that they would pursue the creation of the two films. 'Insurgent' will reportedly be released on March 20, 2015 whereas the last film, 'Allegiant', will hit cinema screens on March 18, 2016.

Prior to working for the 'Divergent' movie sequel, 51-year-old Goldsman has been involved in several movies including 'The Da Vinci Code', 'I Am Legend', 'Angels And Demons', 'I, Robot', 'Batman And Robin', and 'Cinderella Man'. He likewise nabbed an Academy Award for his work on 'A Beautiful Mind'.

Goldsman will reportedly search for more novel highlights which can be incorporated in the second film. Based on his experience, such highlight will inject more action to the film.

'Divergent' is currently being compared to Suzanne Collins' 'The Hunger Games'. Both films have a dystopian theme. Summit Entertainment will release 'Divergent' on March 21, 2014. The movie stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, and Zoe Kravitz.
