While Nathan Sykes and Ariana Grande breakup news have been circulating since December 2013, the young couple opted not to immediately confirm nor deny the reports.

However, the 20-year-old 'Sam and Cat' star recently cleared the air about her relationship with the 'The Wanted' singer.

"Oh we broke up a little while ago, but he's a really good friend. He's so talented and I'm so glad to have met him and to have a friend like him in my life. He's an amazing person. It was very civil - it was mutual," declared Grande to Showbiz Shelly during the Grammys.

Previously, one insider revealed that Nathan Sykes and Ariana Grande's breakup took place last December for "they just weren't into it anymore."

As opposed to the 'Put Your Heart Up' singer's breakup with Jai Brooks, her split with Sykes appears to be a peaceful one. In her interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, she even praised the British singer for being a gentleman during their first date.

"We were going back to his hotel to watch a movie, and he had Laduree macaroon and sunflowers waiting - I love Parisian baked goods, and sunflowers are my favorite flower. He had taken the DVD player out of the bedroom and into the living room, because he said he didn't want to take me into the bedroom on the first date," confessed Grande.

The two formally met after recording the song 'Almost Is Never Enough'. They publicized their relationship in September through Twitter.
