The surprise hit of 2012 "Ted" will have a sequel, as the Seth McFarlane experiment turned out to be a big success. McFarlane has had a Midas touch with comedy with The Family Guy because of his edgy yet hilarious style of comedy.  

Universal Pictures CEO Steve Burke was quick, blunt and direct when he gave the marching orders after the unexpected success of the movie featuring a talking, weed-smoking teddy bear. From Deadline, he was quoted: "We'd like to see a Ted 2 as soon as we can." Most people would, too, if it raked $395 million from a measly $50 million budget.

Lead star in as a human Mark Wahlberg teased the "Ted 2" project to Collider:

 "We're shooting Transformers in May, and then I believe we're gonna do Ted 2 right after.  They're working on it now and we've kind of gone through the negotiation process.  The great thing about it is Seth's ideas for the second one are sick.  He comes from the world of episodic television so he knows how to tell the stories, man, in a way that most people don't, like for instance The Italian Job we've been trying to do the sequel for 10 years.  He's a different kind of guy."

Movies With Butter, caught up with Seth McFarlane on a panel on theTelevision Critics Awards. Addressing the question about "Ted 2" and the possible cast: "We are in the process. Thus far, it's the same bunch,"

While Mark is filming with Michael Bay, Seth is not too shabby himself.  His new feature, a Western themed comedy "A Million Ways to Die in the West" is earning raves from its stars: "It's the funniest thing I've read since Mean Girls." "A Million Ways to Die in the West" will also feature Seth as a real person in front of the camera. Seyfried continues: "He's like a movie star. Seth MacFarlane is actually a movie star. Finally, he comes out from behind the camera and he's so funny!"
