The 'Ant-Man' movie is on "all systems go" mode, and director Edgar Wright's vision for the character is finally coming into fruition. This means, the casting rumors will commence full force. Evangeling Lilly is another name attached with a lead role.

Lilly first became a household name in the phenomenal TV series "Lost." She was then seen on "The Hobbit" movies as Tauriel, an interesting yet controversial character since it was not in the Tolkien books.

Now, she is rumored in another adaptation from the comic books. Will she play another 'invented' character or a classic character with a modified origin?

The news was first reported by Variety:

"After already tapping Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Michel Pena to star in "Ant-Man," Marvel is now in early talks with Evangeline Lilly for the female lead. Plot details are still vague, but fans have suspected Wright is taking a different approach. It is unclear whom Lilly would be playing, though some insiders say she would play the daughter of Pym (Douglas) and Lang's love interest.

Pym didn't have a daughter in the comics, but Cornish and Wright could certainly have switched things up in their version by giving him one."

That's a very good point. Here's another clue from The Hollywood Reporter:

"It is unclear who Lilly would play but it is not intended to be a one-off appearance."

With that tidbit, we have a clue that it is a recurring, important character. A more extensive analysis from MTV.com: "At first glance, that description seems to rule out the popular theory of Janet Van Dyne, also known as the Wasp - considering Janet is Hank's wife (or ex-wife, as it were) in the comics, not his daughter. But the Marvel team has changed things up on more than one occasion in the past, whenever the need arises. 

Is it possible, then, that if Lilly is playing someone of Wasp's caliber, fans could see her as early as next summer's "Avengers" sequel?"
