Dell Venue 7 Review, Specs: Budget Friendly Android Tablet W/ 7-inch HD Screen, 3MP Camera, 16GB Storage & Android 4.2.2 Delivers Great Value & Performance

Dell Venue 7 review, specs: Budget-friendly at $149.99 and features heavy, thanks to Android 4.2.2 and a set of useful apps, the Dell Venue 7 is described as a “crowdpleaser” that is light on weight by heavy on value. Reviews suggest that this device delivers great value and a great performance as a tablet.

Specs of the Dell Venue 7 include a 7-inch IPS LCD which has a resolution of 1,280 x 800 with a pixel density of 215 pixels per inch. It’s powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The Dell Venue 7 runs on Android 4.2.2 and according to PCMag, the operating system is largely untouched except for the Pocketcloud bloatware.

The tablet starts at 16GB but thanks to the MicroSD support can expand up to 64GB in storage. It also has 3 megapixel camera, which according to PCMag is “nearly useless.” The images from the camera spec are consistently noisy and took over a second to capture. The front-facing camera of the Venue 7 was said to be “equally atrocious” and the video recording at 720p was disappointing as well.

Battery life for the unit lasted for 6 hours and 20 minutes in a test conducted by Laptop Mag, which it cites as a minus for the gadget. The site also says that the sluggish accelerometer is another bad point for the unit as well as its dimmer display.

Despite all the “cons” of the Dell Venue 7, it’s price, performance and comfortable design still makes it a true bargain for a good gadget. It gives a user a solid Android experience while also accommodating user’s need for a tool that can help them maintain productivity.
