Upcoming LG Phones 2014: Miniature Flagship G2 Mini Unveiled, Boasts 4.7" qHD Display, Quad-Core Chipset, 1GB RAM, 8MP Camera, Android KitKat

Recently, LG has been making headlines all over the tech world, and a lot of people are looking forward to its upcoming LG phones for 2014. After lurking behind the shadows of its more popular Korean rival, LG is planning to take Samsung head on with the release of a mini version of its flagship, the G2.

In a report by GSM Arena, LG Netherlands has just spilled the beans, announcing the LG G2 mini ahead of the MWC event in Barcelona next week.

According to the report, the G2 mini will be a miniature flagship both in size and specs. The Android-powered handset packs a 4.7-inch screen with qHD (960 x 540) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, a Snapdragon 400 or NVIDIA Tegra 4i chipset, and 1GB of RAM.

Also on board is an 8-megapixel camera, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, and is powered by a 2,440mAh battery. The G2 mini runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

There is certainly nothing to cheer about these specs, but considering the price range of this device, those features are still decent. And with several color options available (black, white, red, champagne), this device would surely get its fair share of buyers.

The report says the LG G2 mini hits the Russian market first, while other markets including those in the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Europe will follow later.
