Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Asus Unveils Smartphone-Tablet Combo In Taiwan, Packs 5" And 10.1" Screen, Quad-Core CPU, 13MP Snapper, Device Arriving In The US Soon

In an attempt to duplicate the success of the first phone-tablet hybrid in the market, Asus announces one of the more exciting upcoming Android phones this 2014.

For those people who do not know anything about the Padfone Infinity, it is a smartphone that can be attached into a dock that also serves as the secondary screen of the device. It gained rave reviews the past year, though it did not meet sales targets due to its fairly steep price tag.

Now, the Taiwanese manufacturer wants to change things and has recently announced a 'lite' version of the device.

Dubbed as the Padfone Infinity Lite, this Android-powered device still boasts the same feature of a smartphone turned tablet, but packs a lighter list of specs. The phone features a 5-inch screen with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a Snapdragon 600 chipset, quad-core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP primary camera, 32GB of internal storage, and a 2,400mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the tablet dock retains the same 10.1-inch 1080p IPS screen, and a massive 5,000mAh battery.

In case you have your eyes on this device, it is now available in Taiwan for 13,990 TWD or about $463, while the docking station is priced at an additional 7,000 TWD or $230.
