Samsung Galaxy S5 Vs. HTC One M8: Two Heavyweight Handsets Eyeing The Top Of Android's Food Chain, Korean Bet Packs QHD Display, 3GB RAM, Alleged Fingerprint Sensor, One M8 Boasts Dual Rear Shooters,

Samsung Galaxy S5 Vs. HTC One M8: Samsung and HTC has been battling it out in the flagship category for years, and this year will be no different as the Korean tech giant unleashes the Galaxy S5, while the Taiwanese phone maker launches the One M8.

So, what would it be like when these two phablets collide? For one, it would surely be a treat, especially for Android fans and gadget geeks who always aim for the best-spec'd handset in the business.

The Galaxy S5 is said to be announced next week at the MWC, while the One M8, also referred to recently as the "All New One", is rumored to see the light of day on March 25. Yet, as early as now we already see a number of specs where these two smartphones will go head to head.

Display

This department is one aspect where Samsung's top dog wins on a landslide. It's not that the All New One's screen looks ugly. It's just that it is Full HD (1920 x 1080) versus QHD or @K (2560 x 1440). As leakers have confirmed these specs, the Korean company would easily take this one.

Design

This is one aspect HTC is known to dominate, and even in previous flagship rivalries - the Taiwanese company's devices outshine the competition. This year will be no different. While the new HTC One M8 would get similar design to its predecessor, it's not entirely a bad thing though some of us were a bit disappointed. However, recent leaks which show a bezel-less side, and the on-screen buttons seem to add more appeal to the upcoming device. The Galaxy S5 is by any means a gorgeous phone as alleged images show, but compared to the All New One, it does not stand a chance.

Camera

While both devices each took the first two departments, this one would be very close. We're talking about the 20MP of the Galaxy S5, and the 5MP UltraPixel dual cameras of the One M8. The 20MP shooter of the S5 willl truly deliver what we can expect from such a sensor, but for the dual cameras of the One M8, we're not pretty sure it would be able to salvage the dismal performance of UltraPixel sensors in the previous model. So by this, we're giving a slight edge to the Galaxy S5, though we're absolutely sure the dual cameras of the One M8 will still have a fighting chance.

Extras

There have been tons of rumors surrounding these two, and we will only discuss the recent ones. The Galaxy S5 reportedly is water resistant and supports a fingerprint scanner embedded on the screen. On the other hand, there is not much to say about the All New One except that it will launch in a gold version. So as far as hype is concerned, people will be more excited with the Samsung device rather than HTC's.

With MWC a week away, and HTC's March event a month from now, we will finally see which one would be the top dog in the Android smartphone foodchain.
