Legend Of Korra Creator Promotes Rhythm & Hues Documentary 'Life After Pi' And Criticizes Hollywood: Will He Avoid The Movie Industry After Book 3 And 4 At Nickelodeon?

As fans eagerly await any news on "The Legend of Korra" Book 3, co-creator Bryan Konietzko is taking the time to support a documentary depicting an issue near and dear to his heart.

The troubling documentary titled "Rhythm & Hues: Life After Pi" discusses the visual FX company's bankruptcy two weeks before its work on "Life of Pi" won an Oscar.

"We run this company for the people. To have hurt them so badly, it's really the antithesis what we wanted to do," says Rhythm & Hues founder John Hughes according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Now, "The Legend of Korra" co-creator Bryan Konietzko is speaking out in support of the documentary on his personal Tumblr page.

"I encourage everyone to watch this heartbreaking documentary about the dissolution of the accomplished and lauded visual effects studio Rhythm & Hues (where some friends of mine worked), yet another high-profile casualty of the collapsing VFX industry due the turbulent, ill-structured quagmire that is the movie business," writes Konietzko.

"My old buddy Scott Leberecht did a wonderful job directing and editing this story. Definitely worth 30 minutes of your time, particularly if you make your living where art and commerce overlap."

Reportedly, R&H has been bought in a bankruptcy auction and today houses fewer than 100 employees in Los Angeles. At the time of the bankruptcy, it had an estimated 1,400 employees worldwide.

Currently, "The Legend of Korra" Book 3 is being animated by South Korean animation house Studio Mir.

As Book 3 begins and Book 4 ends "The Legend of Korra," will Bryan Konietzko avoid the movie industry due to the issues stated in this documentary?
