HTC One 2 M8 Release Date Is Finally Here, New Flagship Boasts 5" 1080p Display, Quad-Core CPU, Snapdragon 801, 4MP Duo Camera, Already Available In Some Markets

HTC One 2 M8 release date: After months of rumors, hints, leaks and speculations, the new HTC flagship device is finally here, and it sure does not disappoint in paper.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android-powered device was showcased a couple of hours ago in simultaneous events in London and New York, and right now, select retailers already have stocks up for grabs from loyal HTC fans.

So is the All New HTC One worth the wait?

While the new handset borrows most of the design features of its successor, it now reportedly has 90% of its body as metal, as opposed to 70% in the previous model. That may not be much, but you will certainly see that the Taiwanese manufacturer has alloted time on the phone's brushed metal finish.

The display has also improved from last year's model that only has 4.7 inches. The New HTC One gets a 5-inch display with the same Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, packed in a smartphone with thinner bezels and on-screen buttons.

The new Android flagship runs on a quad-core Krait 400 chip clocked at 2.3GHz, Snapdragon 801, 2GB of RAM, and an option for 16GB or 32GB of internal memory. There is also a microSD card slot that can support up to 128GB of storage.

One of the phone's cool features is its Power Saving mode that promises up to 30 hours of running time by using just 10% of One's 2,600mAh battery.

And as for the camera, it's the same 4MP UltraPixel sensor at the back, but now with a twin sensor at the top. In the report, there is also a two-tone flash similar to Apple's iPhones to improve lighting and colors.

HTC's newest flagship will be available in color options such as Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold, and is now available in select stores in the UK. It will be released in over 200 carriers across the world by April.
