A new Pokemon X and Y anime special has been announced in Japan, and a new trailer showcases the Mega Evolution special which will premiere on April 3.

According to Serebii, this Pokemon X and Y anime special focuses on Mega Evolution and a trainer named Alan, who travels through the Kalos region to defeat every Mega Evolution in existence.

In the anime, Alan will also encounter the Elite Four member Siebold, who holds a Mega Evolution of his own. New characters also include Manon, Louis, and Ayaka.

Perhaps we will get some insight that could tie into the upcoming Pokemon X and Y movie?

This anime special will be preceded by another Pokemon X and Y special episode on March 27 in Japan, titled "Iris VS Clair! The Road to Dragon Master!"

This Pokemon X and Y anime special will actually take us back to Johto, as Iris journeys through the region in her own adventure. The episode will air along with an episode focusing on Serena and Fennekin called "Time to Debut! PokeVision with Serena and Fennekin!!"

Meanwhile, a new Pokemon TCG card set has been announced, the third series based off of Pokemon X and Y.

Called "Rising Fist," this TCG card set will focus on Mega Lucario and feature over 96 cards in total, and will release in Japan on June 14.
