Install Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update On Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE; XXUFNC5 Firmware Now Available In Austria Via OTA Upgrade

Users of the 2013 Samsung flagship smartphone o can now install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Galaxy S4 LTE.

Particularly, the international variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE already received the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Released April of 2013, the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE came pre-installed with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, according to GSM Arena. But now, Google's latest mobile operating system, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, has already been released for the device via Over-the-Air update.

The official firmware, I9505XXUFNC5 is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE "as part of the regular bug-fix and maintenance update from Samsung, International Business Times reported.

However, the firmware is currently available for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE users subscribed under 3 Hutchison mobile network in Austria. The firmware is expected to be available in other regions as it is being rolled out in stages.

Since the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is a 3-Hutchison branded firmware, it may not be compatible with other Galaxy S4 connected to other networks. Because of this, Samsung users should make sure that the Galaxy S4 LTE is SIM-unlocked. The bootloader should also be unlocked before proceeding with the actual installation process.

Before installing the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, make sure that the model number of the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE is GT-I9505. To check the unit's model, go to Settings > About Phone > Model Number.

The USB Debugging Mode should be enabled on the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE.

Create a backup of the important data on the smartphone using custom recovery tools such as ClockWorkMod.

Make sure the battery level of the device is 80 percent or more before installing the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.
