LG G3 Release Date: High-End Smartphone's Specs Confirmed In Leaked Sprint UAP File, Include QHD Display, 3GB RAM, 13MP Camera

LG G3 release date: Now that Samsung, Sony and HTC have made the announcements for their newest high-end smartphones, it is now time for the ball to go to LG.

During the IFA event in Berlin last year, a lot of people were delighted to see the company's flagship, the LG G2, which has been considered by many as among the top Android smartphones at that time. And today, LG's fans are expecting a better device that will rival newly-released flagships from competitors.

That would be the LG G3.

Tipped for a May 23 launch, the G3 has been leaked several times throughout the Web already. However, as far as specifications details are concerned, this could be the closest we can get for now.

According to a report by GSM Arena, a User Agent Profile document of the LG G3 allegedly leaked from US carrier Sprint. Bearing the model number LS990, the smartphone is indeed the G2's successor (LS980) and it would be a serious upgrade to the original.

Specifications-wise, the LG G3 would be a beast in terms of display quality and performance. The UAP file points to a QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution display, 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 800 chipset.

Rumored to be paired with the Quad HD screen is 5.5 inches of screen real estate, which resembles the display setup of recently-launched smartphone Oppo Find 7 in China.

While the screen department is certainly an upgrade from its predecessor, we sure hope the LG G3 would get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset instead of the 800 edition, which is already on board the G2 when it made its debut last year.

The report also points to a 13MP camera at the back, which hopefully comes with OIS (optical image stabilization), Android 4.4 Kitkat, and LG's own UI skin on top.
