Rumors about Android 4.4.3 KitKat release date are beginning to emerge online.

According to a recent report from Gotta Be Mobile, Android 4.4.3 release date is nearing and it seems that it will be available for various Google Nexus devices. The Android 4.4.3 release date could happen sometime in the coming weeks and it may land for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

However, as reported on BGR.com, although the sightings of the alleged upcoming Google firmware update suggested that Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is happening soon, apparently, the internet search giant is not yet prepared for its launching. The post reads:

"Android Police says that it has learned from several reliable sources that an Android 4.4.3 build has been rolled out to 1% of Googlers outside of the Android team for internal testing, or "dogfooding," which means the final release isn't expected for a "number of weeks" - unfortunately, an actual release date isn't available yet."

Moreover, the report also noted that the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update, known as KitKat MR2 is currently compatible only on several Nexus devices such as the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 10 and the 2 generations of Nexus 7.  Also, the Google Play Edition and Moto X edition is also expected to get the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update soon.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is expected to bring in "critical security and stability." Furthermore, reports are saying that Google is developing major Android features, which is known as Project Hera.

There is no official confirmation yet as to when will be the release of the next major Google OS update. And aside from news about Android 4.4.3 KitKat update, older reports were suggesting that Android 4.5 update will launch this summer.
