‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Cast Rumors: Jennifer Lawrence ‘Mystique’ To Have Spinoff Movie? Academy Award Winning Actress Needs A Bigger Reason To Stay With Mutant Franchise!

Jennifer Lawrence is a definite A-lister in Hollywood, and has established herself as the biggest star among the young "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" cast. She definitely deserves to have a meatier role in the mutant ensemble film!

When they gathered the "X-Men: First Class" cast, Fox wanted to have young, talented and rising stars. They definitely picked well with James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence.

"The Hunger Games" star totally exceeded most expectations. After nabbing an Oscar win for "Silver Linings Playbook," everything about the young actress has been hyped.

While Mystique plays a very integral role in the "X-Men" universe, and her constant blurring of the lines between 'good' and 'evil' make the role a meaty one. However, it would not be very hard to imagine that Fox would have ordered revisions in the script to accommodate a bigger role for Lawrence.

Indeed, having an Academy Award winner in a lead role makes your franchise valuable, but the stakes are also higher. There were reports that Lawrence wanted to quit the franchise. However, the rumor was never confirmed.

Still, Fox understands that the stakes are higher. The concept of Mystique getting her own solo movie has been proposed, in part because of the depth of the character but also to entice J-Law to stay.

Producer Lauren Shuler Donner mentioned to Entertainment Weekly: "There was a regime [at the studio] that didn't see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we're going to do right by it. I'd like to do Gambit. I'd like to do Deadpool. We'll see. There's(sic) a lot of really great characters."

"I love what Jen Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there's so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo," "X-Men: First Class" writer-producer Simon Kinberg also told the magazine.

For that to take place, Lawrence must wrap up her Katniss commitments as well as the X-Men sequel (Apocalypse) among other projects. Fox is willing to wait and the Academy best actress is well worth it.
