Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom Appears In FCC And May Be Announced Soon, Specs Include 20.2MP Snapper With 10x Optical Zoom, Hexa-Core CPU, 2GB RAM

Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom: The Korean manufacturer's newest flagship has finally arrived in stores around the world, and from what reports say it has even surpassed the debut sales of its predecessor, the Galaxy S4. But as we all know, the Galaxy S5 flagship is not the only Samsung phone with the 'S5' branding this year, and one of them has already passed through FCC.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom or also known as K-Zoom has just appeared on the databse of the Federal Communications Commission or FCC in the United States, the main branch of the government that deals with new devices which would make their way to the country.

In the FCC listing, the Galaxy S5 Zoom will have a model number SM-C115, and may be announced sooner rather than later.

In case you want to check out the specs of the K-Zoom, the FCC document reveals most of the important ones. The Android-powered device will pack a 4.8-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a hexa-core CPU and an Exynos 5 chipset for fast image processing.

Also on board are some connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and LTE support.

However, the main attraction for the Galaxy S5 Zoom is its 20.2MP rear camera, the highest ever developed by Samsung for an Android phone. Its lens is capable of up to 10x optical zoom, which is perfect for both distant and close-up shots. There is also a Xenon flash to help provide better lighting in low-light conditions.

Similar to the Galaxy S5, the K-Zoom is also expected to get optical image stabilization (OIS) and run on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat version.

We'll bring you more details of this upcoming Android handset from Samsung in the coming weeks.
