Robin Thicke and Paula Patton split might be the best thing to happen to the "Blurred Lines" singer since he's using the pain as his muse to create new music. The performer is collaborating with Jennifer Lopez for her new album.

The performer's father, Alan Thicke, told Entertainment Tonight Canada that the couple is "doing great" despite the Robin Thicke and Paula Patton split after nine years of being together.

"Robin is pouring himself into the musical artistry. There will be a fabulous album coming out within months," Alan Thicke said. "He's almost finished it."

When prodded for his comment on the Robin Thicke and Paula Patton split and whether or not there's hope for reconciliation for the estranged couple, Alan Thicke said: "They're grown ups. I wouldn't bet on them one way or another."

It was earlier reported that Alan Thicke has been playing marriage counselor especially since he already formed a bond with Paula Patton and his grandson Julian, 3.

"Paula adores Alan and he adores her. He admitted he made a mess of his own love life and caused pain for his family with divorces," TVNZ said. "But he told Paula he believes she and Robin have the strength to get through this and save their union."

For the latest Jennifer Lopez album, she revealed that it's going to be an all-star cast to ensure dynamism and versatility. For instance, she collaborated with Chris Brown who wrote a few songs for her.

Aside from Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez's album will also feature "French Montana, Tyga, Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, Robin Thicke, Maxwell" as well as Future, Ciara's fiance.

"The track I did with Future, I don't know if it's gonna make the album," she told VladTV. "It was one of the first things that I did.

Jennifer Lopez also said that it's the first time she has taken so long to make an album. "It's over a year I've been working on it and all the songs don't make the album, obviously."
