Upcoming Oppo Phones 2014: Oppo Tipped To Launch Midrange Device Soon, Specs Include 5" Display, Snapdragon Chipset, 2GB RAM, 13MP Shooter

Upcoming Oppo phones 2014: Recently, a number of Android OEMs are becoming more relevant in the smartphone world. Companies from India and China are now bold enough to launch high-end and midrange devices at affordable rates.

As you may have guessed, one of these companies is Chinese manufacturer Oppo.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, Oppo will soon launch a new midrange device after it appears in China's telecommunication's website.

Dubbed as the Oppo R1S, the Android-powered smartphone appeared in the Chinese website Tenaa (FCC's counterpart), and revealed a number of decent specs for a midranger.

In the report, the Oppo-made smartphone is powered by a 5-inch TFT display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution which amounts to 249 pixels per inch (ppi).

In addition, there is also a 2GB RAM that will enable fast multi-tasking activities, and a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.6GHz. Unlike the previous generation Oppo R1, the R1S will reportedly sport a Snapdragon chipset, probably the 400 edition.

Tenaa's leaked file shows that the Oppo smartphone will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which may not be enough for some fans. Hopefully, the Chinese manufacturer would be able to release a Kitkat update soon after the device is launched.

Also on board is a 13MP camera that is capable of shooting 1080p videos. There are no further details to confirm a dual-SIM option just like the phone's older sibling.

While there are no release dates in the report, we expect the Oppo R1S to be announced in a matter of weeks, if not months. And considering what the company has done with the Oppo Find 7 and 7a, we expect the R1S to get the same quality.

Aside from quality, the new Oppo phone could also offer a competitive pricing to cater to the Chinese market.
