Install Official Android 4.4.3 KitKat Update On Sprint Nexus 5 Via OTA; Google’s Latest Mobile OS To Be Released Slowly

Users of Sprint Nexus 5 can now install the official Android 4.4.3 KitKat update.

As posted on GSM Arena, the Android 4.4.3 was pushed out yesterday, April 14, and the Sprint Nexus 5 users are the first ones to get it. Accordingly, the firmware, with version number KTU48F is based on Android 4.4.3 Kitkat update and it "enables the device to work on Sprint's LTE network on bands 26 and 41.

Although the KTU84F was not labeled as the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update,  a Sprint customer service representative confirmed that it is indeed Google's latest version of its mobile operating system. Furthermore, citing the statement from the Sprin representative, the post on Gotta Be Mobile noted that updates for the Android 4.4.3 KitKat firmware are "rolled out in increments and can take some time to be received."

Moreover, the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update only brings bug fixes for the existing issues found on the previous firmware and it does not offer new feature or tweaks on the user interface. According to the GSM Arena post, "problems with data connection loss, random reboots, missed calls and various camera bugs have also been fixed."

Furthermore, those who are interested to install Android 4.4.3 KitKat update on the Sprint variant of Nexus 5 should expect to receive the firmware between April 14 and April 21, according to the carrier's community page.

In addition to Sprint Nexus 5, the official Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is also expected to land on other Nexus 5 variants soon, as well as on other Nexus devices including the Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and Nexus 4. The Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is also most likely to be available for Moto X and Google Play Edition of various devices such as the HTC One.
