X-Men Apocalypse Villain Confirmed: Mister Sinister Plus Nightcrawler And Gambit Mutant Additions, And How 'Days Of Future Past' Storyline Links To Sequel

As "X-Men: Days of Future Past" looms closer, the upcoming villain for "X-Men: Apocalypse" has been confirmed—outside of Apocalypse, of course.

According to YouTuber Emergency Awesome, Mister Sinister has been hinted at by director Bryan Singer as a villain in "X-Men: Apocalypse."

“You won’t feel at the end of ["Days of Future Past"] that it set up ‘Apocalypse’. What it does is it sets up possibilities," said Singer to EW.

"But what we’ll discover in ‘Apocalypse’ is that events in this movie made that happen. ‘Apocalypse’ deals with ancient mutancy. What would humans have thought mutants were? What would mutants think humans were? You’re dealing with gods and things like that. And what if one survived and what if that found its way into our world?”

What this means is that Mister Sinister will be simply one villain of the many for Apocalypse, before the reveal of the "big bad."

In addition, Gambit and Nightcrawler are said to appear in "Apocalypse," with Channing Tatum in talks to play Gambit.

So how will Bryan Singer lead from "X-Men: Days of Future Past" to "X-Men: Apocalypse?"

Most likely, "Days of Future Past" will alter the timeline after defeating the Sentinels, but it will lead to another (and perhaps worse) timeline where the "Age of Apocalypse" plot will come into play.
