Johnny Depp and Amber Heard got engaged after dating for only two years, though he never proposed to his ex girlfriend Vanessa Paradis even after 14 years of being together and sharing two children - not to mention the fact that Amber Heard is 27, which is 23 years younger than her 50-year-old "Transcendence" star boyfriend. "Vanessa and I get along wonderfully," Johnny Depp told The Mirror. "There's no weirdness at all, no hostility. Life happens and we spent 14 great years together and raised a couple of kids who we are both incredibly proud of."

Revealing they are still close, Johnny went on: "We see each other all the time and giggle and hang out, just like we always did.

"She's a wonderful woman. I love her and she loves me and she's a great mommy. I have nothing bad to say, ever."

We're glad everyone gets along, especially since Johnny Depp met Amber Heard on the set of the 2011 movie "Rum Diary," when he was still with Vanessa Paradis. Shortly after the relationship ended, Depp and Heard were already romantically linked, though they waited until June 2013 to take things public, Entertainmentwise reports.

Depp explained that he never popped the question to Vanessa, 41, because neither of them wanted to be married, unlike Amber, Yahoo! Celebrity UK reports.

He said: "I never found myself needing that piece of paper. Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don't need somebody to say, okay you're married. If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not?"

Johnny and Vanessa share two children, Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 12.
