NBA Playoffs 2014: San Antonio Spurs To Win It All! Forget Miami's Lucky Shot! The Spurs Will Quietly Destroy All Teams In Their Way!

Say what you want about the San Antonio Spurs: they are old, boring and do not have personality. But according to a notorious sportswriter, they will be the last team standing in June.

It would not be much of a surprise. The San Antonio Spurs have the best record in the NBA at the end of regular season. They finished with 62 wins. That's three wins ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder and six wins ahead of the East no. 1, the Indiana Pacers. They are also a full eight games ahead of defending champion Miami.

Skip Bayless, an ESPN NBA analyst who is notorious for his strong, often unpopular opinions, takes the safe route on this prediction. It's not a popular or sexy vote, but basketball experts would respect any Spurs prediction.

The details as shared by Bayless on ESPN:  "..despite Spurs starters missing a combined 75 games ... despite having to use 30 different lineups featuring 17 different starters ... despite being the first team since the ABA-NBA merger not to have a single player average even 30 minutes a game."

Bayless cites the expertise of Gregg Popovich. Yes, his stars are old. But Popovich can make any roster work. Patty Mills and Danny Green, for example, were discards from other teams but Pop gives them extended playing time.

"Even more incredible, the Spurs finished with the NBA's best road record BY FIVE GAMES at 30-11, coming within three of the 1995-96 Bulls' road-wins record."

The Spurs will have homecourt advantage, but they have proven this season that they can get the job done wherever they play.

In short, the Spurs play the best brand of no-frills basketball highlighted by superior team play instead of relying on a couple of stars.

Bayless' conclusion: "Yes, the old, slow, boring, unathletic, injury-prone San Antonio Spurs -- the Chuck Taylor All-Stars -- just pretty much toyed with the NBA's regular season. No MVP candidate. No sixth man or rookie of the year nominee. No GameFly or Kia commercials."

Do you agree with Skip Bayless that the Spurs will win it all this season?
