The 8-10 LAA Angels continue their nine-game road trip with a stop in Washington D.C. vs the 11-8 Nationals. This series will also feature two phenoms going at it in Mike Trout of the Angels and Bryce Harper of the Nationals. The two stay in touch, though they're not extremely close, Trout told the team's website.

"We're both position players, so we're not really going to face each other," Trout, who is hitting .307 with 12 extra-base hits, told ESPN.com. "We're both going to try, obviously, to get on base, get some hits. But I think when you try to do too much, that's when you get in trouble."

Harper was 1 for 4 after being yanked by manager Matt Williams in Saturday's 4-3 loss. Williams cited a "lack of hustle" when Harper jogged halfway down the first-base line after hitting a comebacker to the mound in the sixth inning, and Harper said he respected Williams' decision, according to ESPN.com.

"I sat with him for a couple of minutes near his locker and I told him that I'm confident in him, I'm proud of him and he was going to have an impact today, which he did. He had an impact getting a base hit and he gave us another opportunity [to score in the eighth inning]," Williams said "He made some nice plays in the outfield. He did well."

Harper was happy to be back out on the field and part of the victory.

"[Williams] just said, 'Go get 'em.' That's the three words he said. He was every enthusiastic," Harper said.
