NBA Playoffs 2014: Brooklyn Nets Will Beat The Heat? Veteran Team Is Built To Dethrone Defending Champs! Did They Tank To Get The Sixth Seed?

The NBA Playoffs 2014 are in full swing and storylines abound even after the first game. The Brooklyn Nets are stalking the Miami Heat! Did they purposely lose their last game to chase Miami?

The Miami Heat is already being questioned for losing their last two games and ending up at no. 2 (losing homecourt advantage if they face the no.1 Pacers). The rumor is that they don't want to play the winner of the 4th vs. 5th matchup which was the Nets vs the Bulls.

But the Nets continued to pursue them. They also lost their last two games and went under the Washington Wizards. They fell to no.6 and if they beat the Toronto Raptors, they will play the winner of Miami vs. Charlotte. Are the Heat really afraid of the Nets? Why?

The Brooklyn Nets swept the Miami Heat this season, 4-0. They are the only team to shut out the defending champs. They actually traded most of their future draft picks to obtain Pierce and Garnett.

The Sun-Sentinel admitted that the Nets have their eye on the Heat since the pre-season:  "First things first. But it's safe to say the Pierce wasn't brought in to hit shots merely against the Raptors. Like everyone else in the East, the Nets reloaded with an eye on the Heat. As Brooklyn continues to build its lead against Toronto, it's safe to say there will be a keener Heat focus on what could come next. And, yes, the Heat are scouting Nets-Raptors, just as every team scouts their next potential opponent in the playoffs."

However, the demeanor of the Heat fans, as represented in the Sun-Sentinel is that they are not afraid of the Nets:  "I think this talk of Brooklyn's regular season dominance of the Heat is significantly overstated. Three of Brooklyn's victories in their 4-0 sweep were by one point, with the other game going to overtime. At best, you can argue the teams are evenly matched. And that Heat will be the ones with homecourt advantage."

Both the Nets and the Heat deny that they were losing games for playoff seeding, but what the fans would want to see is two teams with players who have bad blood play their guts out. Sorry Toronto and Charlotte, but Miami and Brooklyn will be the games to watch.
