NBA Playoffs 2014: Chicago Bulls In Trouble? Did They Take The Young Washington Wizards Too Lightly? John Wall Makes Them Pay!

The Chicago Bulls have moved on without Derrick Rose and later on, Luol Deng. This is a testament to their resilience. They can also hold their own against titans like Indiana and Miami, but have they found their nemesis in the young Washington Wizards?

After a surprising Game 1 loss to a match-up they actually relish, the Bulls had a surprising loss to the Wizards. ESPN analysts talked about the level of concern:

"David Thorpe: 10. "Concern" is always relative -- and in this case, the Bulls were at a concern level of 10 before Game 1 because they always knew how good the Wizards were when healthy, as Washington is now. The Wizards' size and skill inside can not be schemed up easily, so it will be a factor at all times."

The talent level of the Wizards cannot be questioned. The biggest X-Factor in the match-up is Wizards point guard John Wall, who has emerged as the most explosive guard in the East since..well..Chicago's Derrick Rose.

But the Wizards are young and loaded at each position. Thus, the key to victory will boil down to the Chicago Bulls' blueprint for survival: Defense! Coach Tom Thibodeau is the master at defensive strategy, but will it be enough? Game 2 would be a key indicator. From ESPN:

"Israel Gutierrez(level of concern) 6. If there's one certainty in this first round, it's this: The Bulls, having lost Game 1 and Joakim Noah being awarded defensive player of the year since that loss, will play as ferocious a defense as you will see in these playoffs in Game 2. If that translates into a Bulls win, then Chicago knows it can recover. If the Wiz win anyway, the Bulls are toast."

All eyes on the Windy City. If they exit the playoffs early, then more changes will be expected in the offseason. Big names like Carmelo Anthony might be involved.
