Chicago will have its best pitcher on the mound in Jeff Samardzija (0-2, 1.29 ERA), who is 0-4 with a 3.86 ERA in 10 starts since winning at San Diego on Aug. 24. He is off to a great start this season, but has yet to get a win. This is a better time than any for the Cubs to give their ace a victory.

The right-hander has not allowed more than two earned runs while lasting seven innings in every one of his four starts this season. He gave up three runs -- one earned -- during a 4-1 loss to Cincinnati on Friday, according to ESPN.com.

"You go out and pitch and do your job. You control what you can control," Samardzija, who has received four runs of support while on the mound in 2014, told ESPN.com.

Wednesday, April 23 marks the 100-year anniversary of the opening of Wrigley Field. Even though the Cubs were never able to win a World Series, it has become one of the more iconic staiums.
