Hamels (8-14, 3.60 ERA in 2013) looks to lead Philly to its fourth straight win after coming off the disabled list because of shoulder inflammation. The left-hander was cleared to join the rotation after throwing seven innings of one-run ball at High-A Clearwater on Thursday. He wrapped up his rehab assignment with a 2.12 ERA over 17 innings in three starts, according to ESPN.com.

"The potential and possibilities in the rotation, once we did sign Burnett in the spring, we'll see it when Hamels is in there," Sandberg told the team's official website. "We'll see the rotation in complete strength. I've been waiting for that day."

This a chance for Hamels to start the season on a positive note, following a disappointing season for him as one of the aces of this staff.

"I'm excited to see him," Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said. "It's been a while. This is the day I've been waiting for. I like the possibilities of this rotation and now it's all together with everybody healthy."

In Grienke's last start, he failed to go to 4-0 because he was backed with no run supports in a 4-2, 12-inning home loss to Arizona on Friday. He allowed one run and three hits while striking out eight over six innings.
