Andrew Garfield showed off his brand new haircut while celebrating Earth Day with girlfriend Emma Stone to promote their new movie "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" in San Francisco, California.

Andrew Garfield debuted his new haircut this week and we think he looks great! The Spider-Man actor buzzed off his hair and scruffy beard just in time for Earth Day, where he and girlfriend Emma Stone were joined by their "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" co-stars Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan and director Marc Webb, at a meet up with Google employees, Hands On Bay Area volunteers, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the YMCA. The big group helped to help plant trees, mulch, and install a drip irrigation system to help support the local burrowing owls at Shoreline Park, Just Jared reports.

Despite his fresh new haircut for 2014, the British actor, 30, was put in his place by Emma, 25, when he made a comment about "feminine" activities during a Q&A with young fans.

"How did Spider-Man get his costume?" a little boy asked the star (via Yahoo), Us Weekly reports.

Garfield replied: "He made it. He made it with his bare hands. He sewed it. He took some sewing classes and some needlepoint classes. It's kind of a feminine thing to do, but he really made a very masculine costume out of a very feminine."

Stone butted in, "It's feminine how?"

The audience knew Garfield was in trouble. But he tried to defend himself: "It's amazing how you took that as an insult -- It's feminine because I would say that femininity is about more delicacy and precision and detail work and craftsmanship."

"Like my mother, she's an amazing craftsman," he added. "She in fact made my first Spider-Man costume when I was 3, so I use it as a compliment," he said.

"To compliment the feminine not just in women, but in men as well. We all have feminine in us," Andrew eventually concluded.

Emma let him off the hook and giggled at his attempt to dig himself out of the hole he got himself into.

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have been together ever since they met on the set of "The Amazing Spider-Man" in 2011. They currently live together in NYC.
