Wii U Mario Kart 8 Release Date Demo? Nintendo Gamers Await Pre-Launch Version

Nintendo is allegedly planning on releasing a demo of Mario Kart 8 ahead of the game's official release date, allowing gamers to try out the game before purchasing it, Ubergizmo reports.

A user on Reddit wrote that during Wondercon, Nintendo had several stations set up and will be releasing a demo for the Wii U soon, Ubergizmo also reports.

But that isn't the only thing fans are buzzing about.

Attention surrounding Mario Kart 8's release date, 3Ds, trailer and characters may have given Nintendo a boost as the Wii U continues to compete against rival next-generation consoles Playstation 4 and Xbox one, the Motley Fool site opines.

"The Wii U may not have the graphical horsepower of the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One, but the upcoming Mario Kart game shows that Nintendo's developers are improving on the platform and coming to terms with HD development," the website writes.

"President Satoru Iwata has openly stated that Nintendo was having trouble adapting to the HD standard. Mario Kart 8 signals that those troubles may be coming to an end."

Mario Kart 8's release date version is expected to be featured in a Wii U bundle unveiled by Nintendo.

The package is alleged to contain a standard old black Wii U Premium, a copy of the game, and a one-week trial of Nintendo's Wii U Karaoke app, Game Spot reports.

Earlier this week, the game's release date was confirmed for a May 30 release date, bringing more talk among gamers on social media about 3Ds, characters and the title's trailer.

Nintendo has released a list of features for the upcoming Mario Kart 8 release date, but voice chat functionalities were not included.

The company has been historically been apprehensive to incorporating this feature into its other titles.
