The Pokemon X and Y anime has come to episode 24, and now fans can watch the video online featuring Cyllage Gym Leader, Grant.

In this anime episode, Ash challenges Grant to a match, where Ash uses Pikachu and Froakie and Grant uses Onix and Tyrunt. Will Ash win with a new strategy?

Some fans are particularly excited about the introduction of Grant as he is one of the few dark-skinned characters in the series, and only the second Gym Leader after Lenora.

The issue of racism has been brought up time and time again, mainly due to the popularity of Pokemon. This has been the case with Lenora, when the Gym Leader was depicted with an apron. Many saw this as alluding to the Mammy stereotype.

So far, nothing of the sort has been said about Grant, and it is definitely good that some allusion of racial diversity is being featured in the X and Y anime.

Meanwhile, the Pokemon TV App is being released for Kindle Fire.

According to Serebii, the free App will soon grace the platform in addition to the iOS and Android, and it allows Pokemon fans to view episodes for free, with the episode selection changing each week.
