NBA Free Agents 2014: LeBron James To Phoenix? The League’s Most Promising Team Is Prime Destination For Title-Chasers!

The Phoenix Suns was supposed to have a nightmarish season but they ended up being the league's most pleasant surprise. NBA Free Agents 2014 are taking second looks at the Arizona team and the Suns' management makes no qualms about shooting for the biggest catch: LeBron James.

The Suns' Goran Dragic recently won the Most Improved Player Award. When the press asked some questions, his team's off-season needs became a topic and he candidly said (from Azcentral.com):

"If we can get LeBron, I would like to get him."

This was not a joke. Phoenix is dead serious about making the playoffs and beyond. They did that in a year that they were supposed to rebuild. Now they realize the potential of the team, sky is the limit for what they could achieve when they get the pieces together.

The report from Azcentral: "Suns General Manager Ryan McDonough reiterated last week that the Suns will pursue the best available players, just as he said coming into the job last year. He proved that with the Bledsoe acquisition. He was part of that mindset in the Boston front office when the Celtics landed Allen and Kevin Garnett in one summer to set up a championship."

Apart from the fact that superstars bring superstars, there is also the prevailing concept behind the Miami Big Three that superstars attract fellow superstars. It's easy to form a Big Three when you already have a Star tandem. The Suns want to apply that:

"At the least, it is an inspiring sign of what the franchise envisions. James may be a Suns dream, but the franchise will never be able to open new doors without first having the boldness to knock. To that end, the Suns would not be done with signing James. The Suns become a lot more attractive to Kevin Love if James is around and if Love is on the trade market this summer. Dream big."

If It's not LeBron, then other free agents can see the 'Sunshine.' Carmelo Anthony would also fit well, Kevin Love or Chris Bosh. They have an elite point guard in Dragic and very hard-working big men. All they need is a star.
