The Wanted's breakup should be blamed on the American reality TV show they filmed last year, at least according to member Siva Kaneswaran who, in a related story, was attacked along with Jay McGuinnes while giving help to the homeless.

Siva Kaneswaran, who earlier had a verbal spat with Max George, told The Daily Mirror that looking back, they shouldn't have done the show "The Wanted Life."

During filming, they were cooped up for at least three months inside a mansion in Los Angeles owned by record producer Scotter Braun.

He said that the friendship among the band members prior to The Wanted's breakup was very real but ultimately, it doesn't matter how close they were, "it's amazing what people can do to get you agitated."

"Do I regret doing it? Oh my God yes! Everyone showed their true colours in that show," Siva Kaneswaran said, adding that in the end, the team concept was disturbed and they weren't "The Wanted team" anymore.

Earlier, Siva Kaneswaran and Max George engaged in a verbal joust in the media over the latter's statements in an interview with The Sun that there was already a lot of tension between the boys and their personal lives drove them apart.

Siva Kaneswaran said that Max George jumping the gun on their agreed statements about The Wanted breakup was "disappointing."

"The statement is what we all agreed on, so it was quite a shock to have that recent article come out from Max, for me and the fans because we found out at the same time," he told MailOnline in February this year.

Meanwhile, Siva Kaneswaran and Jay McGuiness were attacked by a homeless man during a tour in Denver earlier this week, TMZ reported. In order to while away their time, they both went to watch "Transcendence."

After the movie, they went out and saw the homeless man begging for money. When Siva Kaneswaran handed "a few bucks," the suspect wanted more and even pulled out a knife, the website said.

Reportedly, the two band members wrestled a bit with the homeless guy who scampered away. Both Siva Kaneswaran and Jay McGuinness were not injured by the scuffle.
