'Winds of Winter' Eyes Release Before Christmas Holiday? Author George R. R. Martin Discusses Controversial 'Game Of Thrones' Rape Scene Between Jaime And Cersei

"Winds of Winter," the sixth installment of "A Song of Ice and Fire," may be released before the Christmas holiday this year, probably October or November. That's what a fan site claimed as author George R. R. Martin discussed the controversial rape scene between Cersei and Jamie on "Game of Thrones" Season 4.

The windsofwinterrelease.com, which calls itself as a fan site dedicated to the "Winds of Winter" and "Game of Thrones," said that the stars seemed to be aligning right for the release.

The fan site noted that George R. R. Martin "has been quiet, which means he is writing" chapters of the "Winds of Winter."

"Less promotional tours, less conferences, more writing," it added. "If he continues to spend his time in New Mexico, he could easily complete the book by year's end and start the final editing and promotional process for a fall release."

However, George R. R. Martin has not been quiet and in fact, the author dished out on his blog about the controversial "Game of Thrones" rape scene between Jaime and Cersei next to the altar where their son, Joffrey, lays.

George R. R. Martin said the whole setup was very different from the book where Cersei and Jaime just saw each other for the first time after Joffrey's death, unlike in "Game of Thrones" where the Kingslayer was already back for weeks.

George R.R. Martin also said that he never discussed the scene with the producers of the show.

"I do regret if it has disturbed people for the wrong reasons," he wrote in Not a Blog.

"Game of Thrones" writers and producers Dan Weiss and David Benioff narrated toVanity Fair in its April issue that they sought out George R.R. Martin in Sta. Fe, New Mexico last year to know his vision for "Winds of Winter."

The show runners said they wanted to know how everything ends so they don't veer too much from George R. R. Martin's vision.
