Many were stunned but most importantly happy when Tinseltown's quintessential bachelor, George Clooney, finally proposed to his lawyer girlfriend. What changed his original decision to remain an unmarried man?

As per one of People magazine's source, George Clooney's new girlfriend Amal Alamuddin might find it in her heart to thank Stacy Keibler, the 'Gravity' actor's former lady love whom he dated for two years. As per the source, Keibler brought several changes to the 52-year-old bachelor's perspective in life.

"She was one of the first women he's dated who had her own life. She was sweet and had a very good heart, and he was attracted to that," claimed the source. The pro wrestler is reportedly the reason why Clooney was "calmer" and "more open".

 "He was in a place to meet the woman he would be with for the rest of his life. He has matured and evolved, and he has found someone who can keep up with him. He respects that she is not remotely involved in his world. She seems to have no interest in a Hollywood life in the spotlight," claimed the source.

Apart from Clooney's engagement to his British girlfriend, Keibler is likewise starting a new life chapter for she expecting her first baby with husband Jared Pobre.

As for Clooney, he reportedly impressed Alammudin's family: "(They) weren't surprised that this is such a lightning relationship. They found George very easy to get along with, cool. They felt at ease with him immediately."

George Clooney and Amal Alammudin are not rushing to tie the knot although one family member reveals that the couple is greatly considering September as a great month to marry.

Fans including several celebrities like Ronan Farrow have extended their congratulatory messages to the couple. Farrow says that Clooney finally "met his match" in Alammudin who he described as a "brilliant lawyer".

The couple met last year while working on a human rights cause for Syria.
